Yes, I know New England is the home the ne plus ultra of clam shacks, or so says the NY Times, but in the otherwise very suburban LI town of Rockville Centre (my home town), there’s a first rate clam shack for those who can’t make the trip up north.

Try Bigelow’s, which has been there since the beginning of time. Mighty fine fried clams and all the fixings.
