If you’re looking for a low-key place to sample authentic Mexican cooking, La Palapa is just the ticket.
The New York Times reported yesterday that a couple of new eateries are opening in the ‘hood. One makes me happy. One makes me sad.
When you call Arte Cafe, the Italian restaurant around the corner on 73rd Street at Columbus that spawned Artevino, they’ll tell you the diminutive wine bar is located “around the corner from our restaurant.”
When Georgia’s opened a couple of years ago on the corner of 90th and Broadway, no one in the ‘hood thought the place would make it. Too fancy. Too far uptown.
When we want authentic ethnic eats, we head for Queens. No question, there are tons of eateries in the borough that deliver outstanding cheap eats.
