Midtown and Murray Hill: Pizza and Sandwiches

If you have the munchies in midtown, try NYCFoodGuy‘s pizza recommendations.

He also suggests what sandwiches to avoid in the Murray Hill area. Steer clear of the #2 Italian Style sandwich at Lenny’s. And at Todaro Brothers, an Italian grocery in the area, beware of pricing that can swing wildly– for the very same sandwich– from one day to the next.

Still Todaro’s boasts some finds. I love their tomato sauce. And the lamb chops from the butcher counter–not cheap to be sure–are first rate. I marinated them in a little olive oil, red wine and oregano and cooked them rare. A real treat.
