Oy gevalt! Tap into your Yiddish roots and check out Yiddish Live! at the JCC this weekend. Of special note, Arthur Schwartz, the Jewish culinary expert, will be on hand to discuses his new book, Jewish Home Cooking – Yiddish Recipes Revisited
Yiddish comes alive in an all-day festival dedicated to contemporary takes on Yiddish culture.

• 3-4pm: New Sounds in the Yiddish/Klezmer World featuring Deborah Strauss(Strass-Warshauer duo), Saramina Gordon (The Jewish Princess) and Art Bailey (pianist, accordian)
• 4-4:15pm: Author/Blogger Ben Feldman reads an essay about an adventure in Brooklyn inspired by a contemporary Yiddish sign
• 4:15-5:15pm: Author David Roskies discusses his new book, Yiddish Land

• 3 pm: Der Kish – Indie short film in Yiddish about an orthodox father torn between his love for his child and his religion. Followed by a screening of the classic film Hester Street
