Whole Foods at Columbus & 97th To Open Aug. 27

It’s official.  The new Whole Foods on 97th Street and Columbus will open Aug. 27.  No more schlepping to Columbus Circle. I peeked inside and saw a row of about a dozen check-out counters and the makings of a cafe.  Here are some of the features that will grace the new store, according to a Whole Foods spokesperson:

• There will be a café with 115 chairs, 11 stools and 3 benches, with total seating for 159.
• A coffee, gelato, salad, hot and a dessert bars are also on the menu. There will be a cheese selection similar to what can be found in other Whole Food Stores.
