Hanukkah Food Event: Italian Jewish Culinary Traditions Discussed at Upper East Side New York Synagogue

Did you know that Italian Jews are credited with popularizing eggplant, fennel and pumpkin as far back as the 2nd century BCE? Koenig will discuss how some traditional recipes—think Carciofi alla Guidia, or deep fried artichokes—have attained iconic status in Rome, Italy’s largest and oldest Jewish center.
