Want Fresh Direct in your building?  I mean REALLY in your building? As in a vending machine with dinner to go?

Brick Underground reports that Fresh Direct will place a vending machine stocked with heat-and-serve meals in your New York co-op or condo building. Right now, the company has launched a pilot program to test the concept.  Already, three downtown rentals boast the food dispenser.

The catch?  You need at least 400 apartments to qualify for this modern day version of the automat.

Take-out via a vending machine costs about At $4.95-$8.95 per item. You get selections like  meatball Parmesan, chipotle lime chicken rice bowl, and chicken tikki masala.  Read more on Brick Underground.
