Strawberries are starting to show up at local farm stands on the North Fork. Krupski’s in Peconic has them.  So does Latham’s. Their main farm stand is in Orient; there’s a daily satellite stand in Greenport as well. Pretty soon, Harbes in Mattituck on the North Road will be putting out its berries too.

My vote for best berries is Harbes with Latham’s a close second. And if you want to make a cobbler or shortcake, now’s the time.

Is this the berry stand across the street from Harbes Family Farm?

If so, they are now operating as Patty’s Berries and Bunches. Used to be known as Harbes Berry Farm but recently rebranded themselves.

Now their berries are the best!!!!
