Murray’s, in the West Village, has some of the freshest cheese around. Plus, their selection is enormous and their cheesemongers knowledgeable.
For the past year or so, the shop has been offering classes for the cheese-obsessed. (I count myself among them.) If you want just a straight-up cheese tutorial, they have that. Uncertain of how to pair your favorite washed rind cheese with beer or wine? You can learn that too. Plus, the classes go beyond just plain old cheese. There’s a class on pasta making, one on the ins and outs of cider–and even one on constructing the perfect grilled cheese, still my favorite cheese concoction.
