Daniel Boulud opens yet another restaurant across from Lincoln Center on the Upper West Side.
Aprpeggio Outdoors, the al fresco extension of the restaurant in Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center, will be supplying picnic foods this summer to concert-goers attending summertime Lincoln Center events.
True, O’Neal’s, on 64th Street between Broadway and Central Park West, is filled with blue-haired ladies on their way to Lincoln Center. (Actually, when it was the Ginger Man a very long time ago, I’d stop there with my mother for a bite to eat after we’d attended a Philharmonic concert.)
This year, I’m watching the Oscars in my PJs at home. But if you want to put on the dog and do Oscar night up right, then you can mosey on down to Lincoln Center and watch the awards—admittedly, Lincoln Center ain’t Hollywood—on a big screen TV. Swill down cocktails and nibble on horsd’œuvres . [...]
The renovated Alice Tully Hall, located on Broadway at Lincoln Center, was recently unveiled. For years, Lincoln Center has sat back from Broadway, a bit aloof and distant from the neighborhood it inhabits. But the newly refurbished glassed-in Alice Tully Hall actually seems to reach out to the street and embrace it.
