Peering into the new Whole Foods opening Aug. 27th at 97th Street and Columbus Avenue, I can spot café tables and gleaming check-out counters.
Among the store’s offerings will be a stand-alone 1000-bottle wine shop—the first to grace any Whole Foods in New York—and a “grind your own” peanut butter station.

Update: The new Whole Foods will open August 27.
The word from a Whole Foods rep is that the new Upper West Side store at 97th and Columbus will be throwing open its doors in August.
For all you Whole Foods hopefuls out there, the rep promised that that date is absolutely, positively firm.

Whole Foods @ 98th and Columbus is Still on Target to Open Late Summer/Early Fall

Update: The new Whole Foods will open Aug. 27.
There’s considerable angst concerning the planned opening of Whole Foods at 97th and Columbus. Many are fearful that the store won’t actually throw open its doors to eager neighborhood food shoppers.
